This half-day guided kayak adventure is approximately 5 hours door to door, with a 2-hour guided kayak eco-tour through Shingle Creek.
When should we arrive at the pick-up location?Please arrive at the pick-up location 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. The bus will depart on time with no exceptions, as all tours follow a timeline to ensure you make most of your time at the destination.
Is there a guide on the trip?Yes, you will be accompanied by a licensed, professional tour guide. Guides are CPR certified, and CDC compliance trained.
What’s included in my Shingle Creek tour?Tour includes roundtrip transportation, professional and certified tour guide, 2-hour guided kayak tour through Shingle Creek, single or tandem kayaks, paddling instructions and equipment, and a picnic lunch.
Where are the pick-up locations?Pick-up locations are at: (1) Margaritaville Resort at 7:15 am (Banquet and Event Entrance, 8000 Fins Up Circle, Kissimmee, FL 34747). (2) Golden Corral Restaurant Lake Buena Vista (8707 Vineland Ave, Orlando FL 32821). (3) Orlando Star Flyer at Icon Park at 8 am (8265 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819). Please call the number on your e-ticket after purchase to confirm your pick-up location.
Can I eat or drink in the vehicle?Unfortunately, the only thing allowed in the vehicle is bottled water due to the abundance of Florida critters that love to hitch rides. There will be plenty of time outside the vehicle to eat and drink.
What happens if Mother Nature interferes with our trip?Florida is one of those places where the weather can change in an instant. It can rain on one side of the street and be completely sunny. The guides will do their best to ensure all activities are completed; however, guests' safety is of utmost importance.
What should I bring?Camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, sun hat, sunglasses, bathing suit and towel. A light sweater or jacket is recommended for the air-conditioned drive.
Is the tour appropriate for children?The Shingle Creek kayak tour is family-friendly fun, but is not suitable for children under 5 years of age.
Does the Shingle Creek Guided Kayak Adventure have any restrictions?Participants should have a moderate physical fitness level. This tour is not suitable for children under 5 years, pregnant women, people with back problems, people with heart problems/serious medical conditions or wheelchair users.
What will we see on this tour?On this Real Florida Adventures tour, you'll kayak through the ancient cypress forest of Shingle Creek Regional Park, and catch glimpses of turtles, birds of prey, wading birds, maybe even an alligator or two. Guides will share some of the rich history of Shingle Creek along the way.
Is this tour wheelchair accessible?No.
